Why the Water Hemlock is highly poisonous: Ethobotanist H.D Harrington once wrote that The Water Hemlock “has gained it’s reputation as being the most poisonous plant in the North Temperate Zone.” It’s toxin, called Cicutoxin, can cause delirium, nausea, convulsions, abdominal pain, seizures, and vomiting within 60 minutes on ingestion – frequently leading to DEATH.

DEADLY NIGHTSHADE 
Why the Deadly Nightshade is highly poisonous: Deadly Nightshade is one of the most toxic plant in the Eastern Hemisphere. While roots are the most deadly part, the poisonous Alkaloids run through the entirety of the plant, Scopolamine and Hyoscyamime are among these toxins, both of which cause Delirium and Hallucinations.
Fun Fact: Deadly Nightshade berries pose the greatest danger to children, as they are attractive and are deceptively sweet at first bite. Yet just 2 berries can kill a child who eats them, and it only takes only 10 or 20 to kill an adult.

WHITE SNAKEROOT 
Leaves and stems of White Snakeroot plants contain tremetol, which is extremely poisonous. The plant is unplatable to animals, but they will consume it if other forage is scarce. Lactating animals excrete the toxin in their milk which can pass to humans drinking the milk.
